High School Essay Contests
2008 Reading Chapter High School Essay Contest
Pick one of the following four topics that most interests you:
- How Will You Achieve Your Personal Financial Goals for the Next Five Years?
- Debt: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
- MySpace & Facebook: Career Killers?
- Generational Differences in the Workplace
Awards for students:
Top essays are awarded
$1,000, $750, $500, and $250 respectively.
Awards for schools:
The school with the most
entries wins $500.
The first-place entry will be featured on CPAzone.org.
Entry Guidelines:
- A three to five page essay must be typed and double-spaced. Bibliographic references are not required; however, if references are cited, proper attribution must be given.
- Essays will be judged by a panel of CPAs and will be evaluated for content and creativity. Style, punctuation, spelling and grammar will be considered.
- Essays must include a cover sheet with the student’s name, high school, class year and e-mail address, as well as the sponsoring teacher’s name, phone number, and e-mail address.
- The student’s name should not appear anywhere else in the essay to ensure anonymity during judging.
All entries must be submitted by Friday, March 7, 2008 to:
