Why did you start your own company?

After leaving public accounting, I worked in finance for a Fortune 100 food company. I began to see unmet needs and opportunities in a changing marketplace that big companies were not, and still are not, addressing. This, coupled with a personal interest in better nutrition for my own children, prompted me to pursue some innovative ideas with some food scientists at Cornell. This ultimately resulted in a series of 17 U.S. and International patents.

Outside interests/hobbies:

Tennis, dance, music, writing, poetry, children's nutrition and health issues

What do you like about being a CPA?

I believe that a degree in accounting provides the best basic business education you can get. Combined with the core values and disciplined approach that I acquired as a CPA, I have many transferable skills enabling me to pursue many different professional and business ventures.
